I absolutely love connecting with other creatives that bring the entire client experience full circle. I had the opportunity to connect with Atlanta based makeup artist, Shani to get her two cents on if and WHY you need a makeup artist for your professional photo session.
Here’s Shani’s spill on why you need a professional makeup ……
It takes a lot more to achieve a “natural” look through photos. It is important to use a full coverage foundation for photography because cameras catch everything and it’s better to have more coverage. The camera will also wash out some of the colors in your face and eyes so a makeup artist will know just what to do to make sure that your “natural” look translates well through pictures.
If you’ve decided to invest in professional photography you should want the output of your photos to be a reflection of that investment. Hiring a makeup artist is just another component of that investment in yourself and ensures you are satisfied with the final results.
Hiring a makeup artist isn’t just for women. Men should consider this also because making sure the skin is not oily and any unwanted blemishes are corrected is imperative in achieving “ perfect” photos.
This is soooo important well before the actual makeup application. It’s important to start with a clean canvas.
This is pertinent 2-3 days before applying makeup. This removes any dead skin cells from the top layer of your face. The result creates a smoother base for your makeup.
